Hello there!
It's snowing finally. A great winter atmosphere. It's a few weeks after Christmas, but it does not matter. I'm working normally again and I have more time. When I look out of the window, on the snow, I can't think of anything else than skiing and enjoying it while it lasts. I remember walking on a frozen pond when I was small, in our village, outside of Prague and the other children in the neighborhood. But back to reality. The mountains are far away and I'm in the center. If I didn't know it here I would probably be bored inside a flat. But I know it very well and I want you to find out about it as much as possible, and most of all, from a different perspective than these tips in the Prague Guide. There are a lot of things, especially sights and everything in the spotlight. Clearly sorted. But they will not tell you much about the locals and where they like to go. Whether it's small cafes and restaurants or events that have real charm. And, for example, ice skating is magical. So if you can ice skate, definitely give it a try in the center of Prague. It's a bit more expensive than a frozen pond in the village but it's worth it. The center of Prague at night light and on skates? Romance and entertainment at the same time.
So today I would like to write my list of skating rinks in Prague that I like the most.
3. Ice rink Na Františku
Located in Kozí Street in the Old Town, it offers a 40 x 20-meter rink, where you can ice skate every day of the week. Price for adults is CZK 70 and for children CZK 40. You can skate here until March.
2. A rink on the Fruit Market ("Ovocný trh")
The ice rink on the Fruit Market is a little smaller than the previous one. The advantage is free admission and weekend accompanying program. Located in the Ovocný trh, Old Town and opening hours are daily from 10.00 to 20.00. The ice rink closes on January 31st.
3. Skating rink Kasárna Karlín.
This ice rink is located at the Karlín barracks, Prvního pluku, Prague 8. It is open from Monday to Friday from 13:00 to 19:00 and on weekends until 20:00. For children up to 150 cm free, then the entrance fee is around 50 CZK. They're open until March.
4. The ice rink in Letna
The skating area on the Letna is close to the Milada Horáková Street opposite the Sparta football stadium. Opening hours are daily from 9:00 to 21:00. Admission is free.
If you do not skate but you would like to learn it. Take somebody who can do it with you. On-site skates are available for rent. Or go straight to Letna. New instructors are there to teach you.
And if you are not a great sports enthusiast, and skating is not interesting for you. You can let others ice skate and go with us to our Prague Castle Tour. 3 walking hours tour, which starts from Hradčanské náměstí (Square) right in front of the Main entrance to Prague Castle - next to the statue of President Masaryk.
