The Czech Republic ranks to the countries with long and deep experience of beer production and the consumption as well. In Middle Ages beer brewing was the privilege of rulers, aristocrats or monasteries. Beer is still very popular in our country – it was our country, which gave to the world famous “Pils” – after Pilsner Urquell beer – in some languages this word became alternative synonym for the word “beer”. Under communism there were in our country about 70 smaller of bigger breweries. Newly gained freedom after 1989 caused great boom in founding large number of small and micro craft breweries. Which means interesting competition to the world giants. And the winner – the customer….Some of beer places we have in Prague already from 15th of 16th Centuries.
