Tereza Mátlová – soprano, Walter Hofbauer – trumpet and Petr Čech – organ

Soprano Tereza Mátlová is dedicated to opera, operetta and musicals. She graduated from the Prague HAMU in opera singing, received the "Talent of the Year" award at the Wexford Opera Festival in Ireland, where she performed a number of opera roles for several seasons and was twice nominated for the Thalia Award.
Her roles include Rusalka, La Traviata and Tosca, which she performs at the Wroclaw Opera in Poland.

Walter Hofbauer was born in 1994 in Jihlava and began playing the trumpet at the age of eight. Since childhood, he has been one of the most outstanding talents of his generation. Even before entering the Prague Conservatory, under the guidance of his father, the renowned teacher Walter Hofbauer, he won the Elementary Art Schools Competition, the Junior category of the International Brass Instrument Interpretation Competition in Brno, and participated for the first time in the Concertino Praga competition, which he won as a laureate a few years later. His latest achievement is winning several prizes in the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Competition 2021, namely 1st place in the wind instruments category (clarinet, flute, trumpet), the Bohuslav Martinů Award for the best interpretation of a composition by this author, and the Přemysl Pražák Award for the most successful participant in the competition.
After graduating from the Prague Conservatory under Jiří Jaroňek, he was also a student at the Faculty of Music of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague from 2015, where he successfully completed his master's degree in 2021. During his studies, he excelled at a number of domestic and international competitions - Concertino Praga, International Wind Instrument Interpretation Competition in Brno, Competition Showcase of Conservatories and Grammar Schools of the Czech Republic, International Tribune of Young Interpreters New Talent, etc. As a member of the Prague Conservatory Orchestra and 1st trumpeter, he was invited by Jiří Bělohlávek to guest at the opening concert of the Prague Spring, which led to further cooperation, when together with PKF - Prague Philharmonia they performed Haydn's Concerto in E flat major. As a soloist, he also performed with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Pilsen Philharmonic, the South Bohemian Philharmonic, the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Prague FOK, or the Czech Philharmonic under the baton of its chief conductor Semjon Byčkov. Accompanied by Symphony Prague, he performed at an Open-Air concert in Greven, Germany, after which the renowned trumpeter Torsten Hell from Leipzig said about him: “The surprise of the evening was the young trumpeter Walter Hofbauer. He is a ‘rookie in Czech trumpet heaven’. The Venetian Carnival he performed is a bravura piece for a trumpeter, but there are only a few who are really good at it and he is undoubtedly one of them.”
In 2014–2021, he was also a permanent member of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra and, since the 2017/2018 season, of the National Theatre Opera Orchestra. You can also see and hear him at the Czech Philharmonic, where he first worked as an academic, later as a guest and now as a member of the orchestra. Playing in the orchestra is his main specialization. He is a highly sought-after symphonic and studio player in orchestras throughout the Czech Republic and abroad.
He is also involved in chamber music. With the brass quintet Prague BRASSTet, he won the Jeju International Brass&Percussion Competition in South Korea in 2019. A year later, they recorded their debut album JOY together.
Walter currently also teaches at the Prague Conservatory.

Petr Čech graduated from the Prague Conservatory in piano (prof. Marta Toaderová) and organ (prof. Jan Hora), the Faculty of Music of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (prof. Jan Hora) and the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart with the outstanding Norwegian organist prof. Jon Laukvik. In 2011, he completed his doctoral studies at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava in the class of prof. Imrich Szabó. He is a laureate and prizewinner of many international competitions (Prague Spring, Luxembourg, Gdańsk, Brno, Opava). He very often includes contemporary works by Czech and international composers in the dramaturgy of his concerts, for which he received the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra Prize, the Leoš Janáček Fund, the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation and the special prize of the youth asset "Luxembourg Musical Present". He has recorded organ works of the 20th century and works by contemporary composers on audio carriers of Czech and foreign music publishers - CD ed. Vixen with organ opuses by Alois Hába, CD as part of the project "HAMU presents" with the work of Petr Eben, CD of the Swiss company RC with organ compositions by O.A. Tichý and Petr Eben with the brass quintet of the Czech Philharmonic. He works as an organist at the Cathedral of Our Lady before Týn, and teaches at the Prague Conservatory. From 2018 to 2024, he was the director of the Prague Conservatory, thus ranking among the personalities who led this important musical institution in its two-hundred-year history.
