What you will see during our private Jewish Quarter tour

With your guide you will visit so called Jewish Museum, which means the set of four historical synagogues – as Maisel from 16th Century getting the awareness about the history of Jews from their arrival to their liberation from ghetto system at the end of 18th Century, 15th Century Pinkas synagogue paying the tribute to all Czech Jewish victims during Holocaust; as a part of our tour there is also absolutely unique, still preserved 15th – 18th Century Jewish Cemetery, located in the center of Prague, in 18th Century Klausen synagogue you will get learn something more about Jewish holidays celebrated during the year – as Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Hanukkah, Shavuot and many other meanings, Jewish life circle, architecture, restrictions etc. and the tour is crowned by the visit od splendid Spanish synagogue from 19th Century. You will hear about personalities from social and cultural life as the writers, philanthropists and other stories.

How much will you pay for it?

The prices of private tours: the prices stated here are per group - as you will find here in the grid, e.g. - in BellPrague policy 1 - 4 persons pay one price, 5 - 8 person their own one price, 9 - 12 person group, from 13 persons the price upon the negotiation. But what is very important to understand: the prices here are per group and per hour/hours. 

For example regular Jewish Quarter tour is estimated for three hours. Which means, that small group of 1 - 4 persons will pay 2950 CZK (about 120 € or about 130$ - 970 CZK per one hour) for guiding services. 

The admission into interiors is not included, you´ll pay it with the assistance of your guide at the box office of the Jewish museum, you can pay with credit card. Prices are: adult 500 CZK, child up to 15 years accompanied by a parent 180 CZK, student up to 26 years 370 CZK. handicapped CZK 100.

As a part of the tour, there is now also included the visit of the Old-New Synagogue, it is the oldest still active synagogue in Europe, built gradually at the end of the 13th and the beginning of the 14th centuries.    

A private Jewish tour with the interiors is not possible during Jewish holidays, when the synagogues are closed. During 2024, these are: April 23, 24, 29 and 30, June 12 and 13 and October 3, 4, 12, 17, 18, 24 and 25. A tour is possible with an extended walk around the synagogues and its Art Nouveau surroundings. It is also not possible to visit the interiors on Saturdays, when the synagogues are always closed due to Shabbat. So the same applies as in the case of holidays - the walk can be booked, but without entrances.

The meeting with the guide:

We recommend it at Kafka Square No. 3, Prague 1, under the bust of Franz Kafka's birth house. If you wish to be picked up, for example, at your hotel, we charge a discounted flat rate of CZK 250 for whole group OR a shortening of the interpretation so that everything fits within three hours. Please note, however, that the topic is very broad.
